We build warm, respectful relationships with children, whānau, and caregivers. Our open-door policy welcomes families to visit, stay, and be involved. We provide individualised, consistent, and nurturing care in a natural, inclusive, home-like environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging.
We uphold the value of manaakitanga, showing kindness, care, and respect for all.
We believe all children are capable and confident learners. We encourage independence, resilience, self-expression, and decision-making. Children are supported to move freely, make choices, have a voice, and take part in their daily care. We foster emotional competence, healthy attitudes, and strong social skills.
Our curriculum is hands-on, responsive, and reflects each child's strengths, interests, and identity. We nurture curiosity through discovery, play, and self-initiated challenges. Science, sensory learning, and creative thinking are woven into daily life to make learning meaningful and fun.
Outdoor play is central to our programme. Our large natural spaces, bush setting, centre animals, spa pool, and natural resources provide rich learning environments. Through exploration of Papatūānuku and connection with Tāne Mahuta, children develop confidence, empathy, leadership, and risk management skills.
We embrace kaitiakitanga, our shared responsibility to protect and care for the natural world, through gardening, bush walks, worm farms, and sustainable practices like cloth nappies and food scraps for animals.
We honour whānau aspirations and celebrate the diversity of cultures, languages, and identities. We are committed to incorporating te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and te ao Māori throughout our practice. We support children to develop pride in who they are and to respect and understand others.
We promote holistic wellbeing through emotional support, safe environments, and healthy habits. Our approach to nutrition includes providing a low sugar, additive- and preservative-free diet, supporting lifelong healthy choices.
A moving child is a learning child.
